First set of eliminations are through in Madison

This is so cool to watch, I can't get over this ...

Heat 1-B saw the U-37 MISS BEACON PLUMBING, U-13 SPIRIT OF DETROIT, and the U-100 MIRAGEBOATS.COM pretty much in a parade from start to finish. Theoret grabbed the lead in the first turn and was never seriously challenged. Kelly was second with the U-13, but had jumped the gun. Hopp followed with the U-100. Kelly's communications weren't working, so he continued to charge after Theoret in vain, not knowing until he saw the flags that he had jumped and was assessed the extra lap penalty. Order of finish: U-37, U-100, U-13.

Heat 1-C had the U-25 SUPERIOR RACING, U-10 MISS AHERN RENTALS, and the U-3 MISS CHRYSLER JEEP squaring off. Muscatel had an accelerator pedal problem at the start and bogged down but managed to fire it up again. Jimmy King grabbed the lead immediately and took off, running beautifully. David Bryant gave chase in AHERN RENTALS, but going into turn 1 on the final lap, AHERN possibly lost her skid fin and kept running straight. Bryant eventually shut her down before reaching the spectator boats without further damage to the hull. CHRYSLER JEEP was first, with SUPERIOR picking up second place points.

It was just announced that the U-5 FORMULABOATS.COM had an N2 fuel violation from Heat 1-A, so Jeff Bernard lost his 300 points but not his position of second in the heat, and the rest of the order remained the same. There's a break before the second and third set of eliminations ... the draws will be:
